Brief Description:  Fuel lines #2

After about 6 pieces of fuel line being butchered, I finally got a fuel line that fits perfectly into the boost pump and into the firewall fitting. Fortunately, I purchased the EFII boost pump with the 90 degree fittings that can be rotated to assist in lining up to the fitting.

With the boost pump, I riveted the nutplates under the floor so that I can get the hex bolts through the boost pump holes and secure it to the floor. I also added rubber washers under the boost pump for each hex bolt into the floor nutplate. Nice and solid. I also changes the aluminum AN fitting in the firewall with a steel fitting as many others have.

I decided that after the hard plumbing for the brakes and fuel lines were done, there was really no reason not to rivet on the forward left skin. As you can see, the NACA vent was already riveted in place after a bead of proseal was added around it when it was riveted on. I had to drill out a couple of rivets, and I'll need a second set of hands to help me with the keeper rivets on the left gear box tower. A bead of 3M fire barrier was also added on the forward area of the skin and the firewall flange before the skin was clecoed into place.

I wanted to see how everything looked, so I clecoed the forward baggage compartment in place as well as the bulkhead with the avionics access in it. I'll flip the fuse on its back to rivet the rear flange of the spar box to the bottom skins and then start setting up for the Grove gear installation.
